I'm fat. Well, I don't want to offend anyone. I know there's always someone bigger or smaller, or the same size that may be perfectly comfortable with their body but I've been struggling. It's not that I mind being curvy so much. There are definitely times when I feel good about my curves and all this thickness but not right now. My body has not been happy with me. I feel bloated and my tummy hurts all the time. I work from home, Go to school full time and sit on my butt doing homework and never get exercise. I mean my phone app seriously keeps sending me the couch potato award. It's just hard you know, when you feel like you don't have any time at all to make the effort.
Washington's been beautiful the last few days and I get off work at 2:30 and take a nap and before you know it the day's over with. Just a little fyi when your not a morning person working at 6 am sucks! So yesterday I wasn't having it. I had a headache and my son was watching Chicago Blackhawks and yelling at the tv. I had to get out of here. If they lost that game 7 (and they did) it was going to be nightmare in my house.
On my way out the door the other team (Who was it?) won in overtime. I quickly bowed out the door and crossed the street to Silver lake. I'm so lucky to have this in my backyard. Seriously. I did pretty good about walking last summer but I'm such an idiot for not taking advantage of it more often. Do you know walking's supposedly proven to help stress? This is good for me. I walked from my house along side the lake and used my Cannon to snap some photos. It felt so good.
So this blog post and little rant is just a reminder for me that I need to get out of the house. I need to eat better and stop the friggen soda. I need to take advantage of not just the lake but the beautiful surroundings. This is why I should walk every day.

Memorial Day Weekend
I had the best time this weekend. We made the trek up north to Deception pass. I've lived in Washington 20 years and don't ever recall visiting Deception pass and I wanted to take the drive up north to take some photos. We woke up to rain and I was so disappointed. I pissed and moaned all the way to my boyfriends house with the kids and left my camera at home. I mean why bother, with all the rain. I figured it would work out this way. If I take my camera the rain would continue up north and if I didn't, it would get sunny. So they of course have me to thank for the weather we lucked out in having!
We got to deception pass and Troy purchased a $30 annual park pass. If you haven't been to deception pass it's absolutely gorgeous. The bridge itself is about 180 feet and connects Whidbey Island to Fidalgo Island. My son Justus is so afraid of heights he refused to go on the bridge (and we won't even talk about his fear of spiders). The state parks 4,134 acres with camping, trails, 3 lakes and the beauty of Deception pass. We made our way on a trail with the kids that went over to a little marina. It was a good hike. I'm so out of shape. I've gained so much weight from working from home and that combined with my bad knees had me going a bit slower then the family on the way back. My daughter Brittney was busy taking photos and texting with her phone when she fell flat on her butt. It was pretty funny watching her feet slip right out from underneath her. After the hike we all went out on the bridge, except Justus of course. I'm getting him out there next time!

After our time at Deception pass we went to Applebee's for lunch and made our way over to Ft. Casey. Ft. Casey's was built as officer housing before the first world war. It's sort of sad and desolate to see all those old buildings not put to use. The fort was built to protect the Puget sound from enemy attack. It's very cool and at the same time spooky. Lots of ladders to climb, and small cells. This would be a dream for any kid in the area to play. It was very interesting and I'd love to go back with my camera and take an official tour but this was not what I loved about Ft. Casey.
Once you make your way above the view of the sound is spectacular. You can see the grass drops off to the ocean but you can't truly understand it's beauty unless you walk to the edge. I had a really strange connection with this place. I felt the view, and the ocean pulling me. I had to be there. As I walked to the edge of the cliff I saw a winding little walkway down the cliff to the ocean. The beach is littered with rocks and beautiful white driftwood. I made my way down to the beach and felt as though I could sit there forever. The sound of the waves, and watching the ships as they pass. It was so gorgeous. I can't wait to go back with my camera in hand so I can show you.
